Paul and Alicia's Magical Merley House Wedding
We met Paul and Alicia at Paul’s sister’s wedding a couple of years ago at Sopley Mill - it was a joyful event and we loved their family - Paul and Alicia enjoyed the way we worked with the groups and through the day organizing people for the wedding pictures and they really loved the photos and videos we produced so they asked us to capture their wedding day for them too! It’s always fun when you get to see the family again a couple of years later and remember faces and stories and characters! This was an exceptionally beautiful day - the sun shone and the sky was perfect blue. Alicia and her brides maids all got ready at Merley House which is where the reception was to be held later - it was a picture of calm and tranquility with a buzz of anticipation and excitement!
Alicia was collected to travel to the church in a classic vintage Bentley with her very proud dad. She was not hanging around and even through the congested Poole traffic they made it to the church on time, where Paul and his groomsmen were waiting anxiously on her arrival!
The Ceremony was held at St James Church, Poole Quay - it was a traditional wedding ceremony with joyful hymns sung and the most lovely service conducted by Rev Lucy Holt.
After the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom were pelted with confetti! The poor couple had confetti EVERYWHERE! We took a few family group shots at the church before we left to Merley House which was the venue for their beautiful wedding reception. Merely House did a fabulous job of arranging everything to perfection and we really enjoyed working with the team - they were attentive and made small changes to the timings to ensure that the day flowed perfectly for Paul and Alicia.
The Wedding reception was a real celebration and we snuck out with our beautiful bride and groom after dessert to capture some bridal portraits in the gardens whilst the light was soft and pretty. They were real troopers - we normally spend 15 - 20 minutes with our bridal couples so as not to tear them away from their party but Paul and Alicia were up for playing with us for their photo shoot and we are so grateful they were, as we are just delighted with the images we got of them - these are just a very random, small selection from their bride & groom portrait session, followed by a fun group photo session. The group photos were, again, really fun as the party was relaxed and well fed by the time we took them out, so the light was pretty and the guests were well behaved when called for their turn!
And then it was cutting of the cake and party time! The disco guy was fabulous (Reminder to find out his name and tag him in here as he really did a great job of filling the dance floor!) Paul and Alicia had thought of even the smallest details and they had a photo booth and candy table for their guests too. It was a superb wedding, the first for us this summer, and a spectacular way to start our busy summer wedding season! Huge congratulations to you both Mr & Mrs Holland!
