Lewis & Amy’s Silchester Farm Wedding
Lewis and Amy have the sweetest love story! We met them on a bright and sunny but chilly autumn day for a pre-wedding photo shoot and got to know their story as we were walking along a woodland walkway chatting away as we got them used to our relaxed style of photography and how we would work with them on their wedding day. They met at university in their second year and have been attached at the hip since then! Their wedding day came upon us so quickly after that - their ceremony was at their local village church, but they decided to get ready at their stunning reception venue in the morning as it really lends itself so well with a beautiful purpose built wedding prep barn. Silchester Farm is a dream wedding venue with so many beautiful, thoughtfully set up areas for photography - we were spoilt for choice and just delighted with the staff and the venue in general - we hope to work here again soon!
The church was quite a drive from the venue and we had to rush to get ahead of team bride and arrive to capture Lewis and his groomsmen meeting and greeting guests. The boys were all very chilled and had kept Lewis relaxed for his big moment!
Amy arrived at the church a bundle of nerves - the nerves just suddenly bubbled up out of nowhere! You just never know how you are going to react on your wedding day - we’ve had nervous giggles and weeping emotion, but Amy held it together and as soon as she walked down the aisle on her dad’s arm and saw Lewis waiting for her at the top of the church she felt totally calm. The ceremony was very personal and the newly married couple emerged from the church to a hail of rose petal confetti. We had pre-arranged that we would take a few group shots in front of the church after the ceremony and then the remainder of their group shots at the venue.
Silchester Barn is an incredible venue - there are so many areas to explore for photography and video whether its a glorious sunshiny day (like we had) or a wintery rainy day - there are just so many options. We had a bit of time to capture some more group shots before the guests were called in for the wedding breakfast. The food was delicious - more kudos for Silchester Farm - very tasty food indeed and we are lucky, as wedding photographers we do get to eat at some really great venues, the food here is right up there with the best! The speeches were absolutely excellent - heartfelt and funny and just the right length - anyone wanting tips on the perfect groom’s speeches should get in touch with Lewis!
After the speeches and dessert was served, the soft evening light was perfect to take Amy and Lewis away from their guests for a short ‘just the two of us” wander around the beautiful country grounds for their bridal portraits.
On returning to the Barn, the couple cut their cake and opened the dance floor with a beautifully choreographed first dance.
